The hike starts directly above the farm
Holiday in the heart
of South Tyrol
For hiking friends
The Lochbauer lies at 1,350 metres above sea level amidst the greenery of the forests and meadows of the Tschöggelberg. This forms the mountain ridge in the north of the Adige Valley between the two largest South Tyrolean cities of Bolzano and Merano, and is a real hiking paradise. You can walk across larch tree meadows as well as through forests and pastures – always with a moderate gradient, or even flat.
And the best part is: you can leave your car at the agriturism; the trails either pass by the farm or can be reached with the Tschöggelberg bus. A bus stop is within easy walking distance.
In winter, the Tschöggelberg is a spot forsnowshoeing and ski touring as well, and the Merano 2000 ski resort is easy to reach. And if you feel like making a detour to the city, you can experience the unique atmosphere of the South Tyrolean Christmas markets at Christmas time.
On this page, we have put together a small selection of possible activities for you. They are something of an entry point into our little paradise. Come and be inspired!
